We are in need of some extra volunteers to assist in our nursery and children’s Sunday school class, especially during the summer. If you are able to help at all, please contact Sherry Moss. Thank you!
Our choir practices at 5pm on Sundays. If you like to sing, please join us! Then we’ll celebrate the Lord’s Supper at 6pm Vespers.
During the month of May, we’ll be collecting food for the SMSS Food Pantry. You can bring nonperishable food (beef stew, canned soups, canned meats, boxed taco meals, etc.) & personal care items (shampoo, toilet paper, dishwashing liquid, etc.) to the basket in the Connector. We also need some folks to help deliver these items to SMSS the first week in June. Please contact Chuck, Hilda or Mary Pat if you have questions or would like to help.
We will provide supper for our SMSS families on Wednesday, May 24. You can sign up here if you’d like to bring dessert: https://www.mealtrain.com/trains/m6r5j49met6t. If you’d like to help deliver the meals, please contact Chuck or Hilda.
Thursday, May 25 is our day to help at the SMSS Clothes House. We need someone to volunteer to help from 2-6pm (or a portion of those hours). This involves hanging up clothes, straightening, and bagging purchases for customers. You might also find some bargains for your family! If you are interested, please contact Chuck or Mary Pat.
If you are in middle or high school (or rising into either), you are invited to Friday Night Fellowship at the home of Richard and Debbie Rapp on Friday, June 2nd (6–10pm). Dinner is provided. Parents are welcome. Bring a friend! If you are planning to come, please email the church office at email@example.com so we can have an accurate count for food.
We plan to have a church work day on Saturday, June 10 from 9-12. Be sure to mark it on your calendar, as we will have both inside and outside jobs to be done and many hands make light work.
The next book we’ll read and discuss (on Monday, June 26 at 7pm) is The Life and Diary of David Brainerd by David Brainerd & Jonathan Edwards. It is available on the Book Table for $10.
