We would like to determine the interest in a children/youth choir at Wayside. No prior musical knowledge is required or expected. Participants should be able to focus for 20 - 30 minutes, and be able to read at a basic level. The primary goals include learning to read music, singing in unison and parts, and having fun making a joyful noise! This group would sing on Sunday mornings as anthems are ready. Please contact Marian Hull or the church office if you are interested.

During the month of August, we are collecting food for the SMSS Food Pantry. You can bring nonperishable food (beef stew, canned soups, canned meats, boxed taco meals, etc.) & personal care items (shampoo, toilet paper, dishwashing liquid, etc.) to the basket in the Connector. We also need some folks to help deliver these items to SMSS the first week in September. Please contact Chuck or Mary Pat if you have questions or would like to help.

On Friday & Saturday, August 25-26, Pastor Brian will host a “Wayside 101” class in the Fellowship Hall. This class is designed to introduce you to Wayside—its history, vision, mission, core values, as well as what we believe and why we believe it. It's for both visitors and members who would like to know why Wayside exists and what we envision for the future. There is no pressure to join Wayside if you attend, but the class is a prerequisite for membership. The times are Friday, July 28 from 6-8:30pm (supper provided) and Saturday, July 29 from 9am-12pm. If you are interested in attending, please fill out the insert in this Sunday's bulletin and put it in the offering plate, or talk to one of the pastors or the church office (886-1181 or Childcare is provided; if you would like to bring your children please be sure to indicate that when you sign up. Let us know their names and ages.

Our monthly Fellowship Supper & Prayer Time is coming up on Sunday, September 3 at 6pm. Please bring a dish to share. If you would like to head up or help with the September meal, please contact Ele French.

The next Friday Night Fellowship for middle and high schoolers will be Friday, September 8. It will be at the home of Richard and Debbie Rapp. Dinner is provided. Be sure to bring sneakers and a swimsuit and towel. Parents are welcome. Bring a friend! If you are planning to come, please contact Debbie Rapp or the church office so we can have an accurate count for food. Other 2017 dates are October 6, November 3 and December 1.

Ladies of Wayside, please join us for our next Bible study at 6:30 on Monday, September 11 at 6:30pm. We will be studying Genesis 6-9, and discussing Week 4 in Nancy Guthrie's book. This monthly study is designed for any woman in any season to participate. Every woman is invited to come and enjoy fellowship, enjoy discussion, and enjoy the community of the women in our church. Any questions? Contact Jodi Hiser. We hope to see you then!

Our next Book Club book (which we’ll discuss on October 9 at 7pm), How the Gospel Brings Us All the Way Home by Derek Thomas, is available on the Book Table for $10.
