WAYSIDE Christian PRESCHOOL

WELCOME TO OUR SCHOOL

Wayside Christian Preschool is in its 44th year (as of Fall 2020)!  We meet three days a week during the school year: Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday from 9am-12pm.


Three-year-olds must be 3 before August 15th and need to be potty-trained before entering school.  There will be eight students with one teacher in the 3's.


Four year olds must be 4 before August 15th. There will be 10 students with one teacher in the 4's.


Tuition is $150 per month, with a $100 non-refundable registration fee. There will also be a $75 snack & supply fee charged at the beginning of the year.

  • Rachel Elliott, Director

    Rachel Elliott has been a director at Wayside Christian Preschool for two years. She and her husband of twenty years, Phil, and their three children, Evan, 14, Celia, 8, and Will, 6 have been living on Signal Mountain for six years. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in Nonprofit Administration and worked previously at Signal Centers, Inc. and the Chattanooga Area Food Bank. Rachel and her family attend Signal Mountain United Methodist Church where she actively volunteers in the Children's Ministry, Administrative Council and music programs.

  • Christi Meier, Teacher - 4's

    Christi Meier has been the 4 year old class teacher at Wayside Christian Preschool for 6 years. She studied Early Childhood Education at UTC. Christi just celebrated her 26th Anniversary with her husband Jeff and they have 3 children. Hunter is currently in college in Nashville while Chase and Maddie are at Signal Mountain Middle High School. Christi and Jeff both grew up on Signal Mountain and are members of Signal Crest United Methodist Church. 

  • Jenny Hazlewood, Teacher - 3's

    Jenny Hazlewood began teaching the three-year- old class at Wayside Christian Preschool in the fall of 2014. She feels incredibly blessed to work with the active, inquisitive, and creative threes. A native of Halifax, Canada, Jenny moved to Signal Mountain at the age of fourteen. She graduated from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in 2008 and has recently begun working on a Master’s degree in Elementary Education. She is married to Ben and they have two sons, Hudson and Sawyer. In her spare time she enjoys reading, traveling, skiing, playing board games and Legos with her boys.
