July 1 is our day to provide meals for our SMSS families. You can find the signup link here if you’d like to prepare food. To help deliver food or if you have questions, contact Brent Bowman at wbbowman@gmail.com or (423) 322-3441.
Also on July 1, we’ll have our monthly prayer meeting at 6pm, followed by Bible studies for all ages at
6:30pm (discussing Lesson 6 in the women’s book, and Hebrews 8:1-9:14 in the men’s book).
Our Apprenticeship Day event is coming up on Saturday, July 11. Classes for our children and youth will be held from 9:30–11:30am, followed by a special time of singing and a devotional from Pastor Steve Perkins at 11:45. Music will be led by members of our youth group. This year, our class options include gardening, carpentry, self-defense, and survival skills. Even if you do not have children in this age range, we would still love for you to attend the service portion of the day and join us for lunch. Parents are required to assist in at least one class if their child is participating that day. Following the activities, we will gather in the fellowship hall for a sack lunch. Each family is responsible for bringing their own lunch. Please talk to Brittany Patterson if you'd like to sign your child up for classes.
Our summer missions trip is scheduled for July 13-18. We will go to Cherokee, NC to minister alongside Pastor Scott Hill who is planting a church there. We will visit the Tsali Nursing Home , conduct afternoon VBS, and work on small projects around the local homes. For more information contact Pastor Allen.
Ladies of Wayside, mark your calendars for three upcoming Porch and Playground Picnic Days! Bring your kids to come fellowship, play, and eat lunch together. We will gather for these special times at 11 AM on July 17, August 7, and October 2 (all Fridays).
Wayside Women of all ages and stages, please join us at 6:30 PM on Wednesday evening, July 29 for a potluck dinner and craft night. On this special evening, we will gather in the new fellowship hall to enjoy a meal and fellowship while creating something lovely. All the craft supplies will be provided for you! For us to order enough supplies and be prepared with enough food, please RSVP to Jodi and let her know how many in
your family are coming, and what dish you plan to bring.
Pastor Brian will teach a Wayside 101 Class August 7-8 at the church. If you are interested in joining Wayside, or in just learning more about what we believe, please come! The class will begin with supper and a session Friday night (6-8:30pm), and the Saturday session will be from 9-11:30am. Childcare is available for younger children. Please contact the church office (423-886-1181) to sign yourself and/or your family up for the class and let us know if you will need childcare (and the names and ages of your children).
